ORDERING ONLINE & INTERNATIONALLY
So you’ve done your research on the product you want, but are unsure of where to buy it. Some of the products and brands featured here on Direqtory can be bought directly from the manufacturer or a well known vendor, but what about when you’re ordering from across the ocean? It can be difficult vetting online retailers, so I’m going to try and compile my own list of vendors I’ve personally ordered from and have had good experiences with. This list is also not exhaustive, and there are probably countless other excellent retailers around I either haven’t ordered from. If you had a great experience with a company and think they should be mentioned, please send me an email and I will do some research and hopefully make this list longer (especially if you are in the US and ordered from out of the country)!
Arc Di Triomphe– ADT recently debuted a new website, which I recently ordered from. The item was shipped through another store, but their website was easy to navigate and payment was a breeze. Their customer service answered emails fast and it was a pleasant transaction. They are also a custom saddlery, and while I haven’t ordered any custom products from them, they appear to be open to it and I would love to hear from anyone who has done a custom order from them.
Charlotte’s Saddlery– I’ve bought items from Charlotte’s in person at horse shows. They have a few stores here in Texas, a nice website, and even sell some used tack.
Dover Saddlery– Who hasn’t been receiving the Dover catalog in the mail since their childhood? I’ve had many great experiences with Dover, ordering through the catalog, online, and buying in their stores.
Smartpak– I’ve ordered many thing throughout the years from this company. They have excellent customer service, have answered my emails and questions quickly, and shipped items fast.
State Line Tack– Another favorite from my childhood, they have a lot of variety of products (english, western, gifts, etc.) and an easy to use website.
Tack Room Inc.- This is a semi-review, as I actually ordered an item through Arc Di Triomphe’s website and they had the items sent to me though the Tack Room Inc, a company based out of Pennsylvania. Other than a number being transposed in the tracking number causing initial confusion, they were very easy to get ahold of through email and the correct TN was sent to me. The item I ordered arrived in great condition and in a timely fashion.
Dressage Deluxe Ltd.- Simple website with a lot of awesome European brands. They had the confirmation email and shipping number over to me very fast.
Exclusive.- Their website is a little confusing and disorganized with a lot of products, but they are friendly and sell a lot of in-demand items. So far, my items are on back-order but they have been in touch and explained the situation and offered a discount code and soon order fulfillment date. Update: Received the items after being backordered for a couple weeks, and shipping took another week to Texas from the UK. The items came packed neatly in a box and in great condition.
Hope Valley Saddlery – I was able to find (in stock!) a very elusive collection that has very limited US exposure online at Hope Valley. They answered an email regarding shipping fast and the item was shipped quickly to me here in the US. Would definitely order from them again. Awesome selection of hard to find products!
DISCLAIMER: This is from my own personal experience, buying products with my own money. Experiences may vary from person to person. Sometimes a vendor or shipping company could be having a bad day and you might not be thrilled with their customer service. If so, I recommend contacting the companies through email or social media to try and fix any unsatisfactory situation.
