Most riders are familiar with peacock safety stirrups frequently used by young riders. Most graduate to regular irons quickly after gaining balance and training, but adults nowadays are looking for more safe choices (helmets in dressage, anyone?) because no one is immune to falling off. Options for adults up until now have been pretty limited, relying on cages to stop the foot from falling through or bent frames that give the rider a greater chance of freeing their foot if they have to.
